It's the most wonderful time of the year, as they say. So while sleigh bells ring and visions of sugarplum dance through your heads, we thought we'd reminisce on the epic year that just went by and share our best personal moments with you. It's one of our favorite traditions, here at DH.
So grab yourself a spiked eggnog, throw on some festive jams, nestle up by the fire, and read about what some of our team members have been up to outside of work this past year. 🎊🥰

2018 has been a very busy year, personally and professionally. I can truly say the highlight for me was watching my sister and best friend marry her other half in front of a small group of our family and friends. They have both been such an amazing support system for me so I was so excited to get to celebrate their love and everything they have built so far. I feel so grateful to have such an amazing family and can’t wait to spend more time with them all in 2019.
Danica Calderhead, Director of Brand Strategy
A highlight of 2018 for me was buying our first house! My husband and I spent the winter ice skating and the summer swimming. Being so close to a lake and an ocean 🌊 has its perks. In the photo below, my husband and I are on our front porch just after the last box was brought in.
Anna Seviour, Inbound Brand Strategist
My favourite moments in 2018 flew by with my best friend, Ian, and my beautiful family in Newfoundland.

A quick escape to France to finally see what all the fuss is about, and to fully understand why "A breath of Paris preserves the soul."
Jenny Pratt, Director of Customer Success
My favourite part of 2018 was spending seven sweet days on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. One day we rented a boat and spent the day snorkelling with fish and swimming in caves. Needless to say, it was magical.
Alison Chan, Customer Success Team
For me, 2018 was such an amazing and memorable year! I would have to say my most cherished memory was graduating university and traveling to Europe with three of my best friends. Finishing a 4-year degree was so rewarding and definitely one of my biggest accomplishments to date! Celebrating that in Barcelona with some of my closest friends made it that much more special!
Laura Park, Director of Demand Generation & Head of Data
My most memorable moment of 2018 is definitely buying a house! It’s been so fun making it “ours” and having so much space. My one caveat: if you’re going to close on your first house right before Christmas, at least do it before Black Friday so you can get a deal or two on home goods & furniture!!
Michaela Atkinson, Senior Marketing Manager
Working at Dash Hudson has opened up so many amazing opportunities and experiences in my life, but I have to say—I never thought it would bring me love. My favorite moment of 2019 was meeting this handsome fellow while traveling in New York for work. We’re going the distance and I’ve never felt more blessed than I have this year. ❤️
Weibo Wang, Software Developer
2018 was a big year for me, as it's the year I got married. Even after two years of being together, I still couldn’t help but cry in front of everyone while reciting my wedding vows. I can still feel my heart beat in that very moment, and I know I’ll always carry this feeling along the journey ahead.
Kayla Hoolwerf, Customer Success Team
2018 for me is brought to you by the letter 'B' — busy! So needless to say, my favourite memory was taking a long weekend trip to Toronto in May for my birthday. All my friends came together to celebrate with me—best buds, beer, and the Blue Jays!
Dianne Hatcher, CFO
Bowling in an underground alley in the heart of London while on vacation with my family. The best things in life happen randomly and unexpectedly. That was by far my favourite moment!
Gillian Proudfoot, Brand Strategist
My favourite memory of 2018 was marrying my best friend in the entire world, surrounded by friends and family... And of course, joining the DH fam is a very close second!
Haley Robinson, Brand Strategist Intern
My favourite moment of 2018 was spending two weeks at my cottage in Thornbury, Ontario at the end of the summer before going back to Halifax and starting my 2nd internship with Dash Hudson! Spending quality time with my mom and dad in their hometowns is something I look forward to every summer. ❤️☀️
Hilary Wright, Brand Strategist
The best moment of 2018 was getting engaged to the love of my life in Paris. Successful first trip to Europe!
Jordan Steele, Brand Strategist
My favourite moment of 2018 was getting to live out my dream of traveling to Guadalupe Island off the Baja Coast of Mexico on a cinema science expedition with two big guys from Shark Week to swim with the great white sharks!! I am still not over it, best experience of my life! 💙🦈
Julie Meredith, Senior Director of Marketing
My #1 highlight of 2018 would be joining the hilarious and brilliant DH fam. The last 10 months have been an exciting, challenging, and rewarding ride. Looking forward to what 2019 has in store.
Kelsey Skinner, Marketing Intern
So, um, where did 2018 go?? Tbh, I can’t even remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday, so trying to think of what happened in 2018 is a little tricky, haha. My best moment of 2018, besides starting at Dash Hudson and meeting so many amazing people who I now call my best friends, was probably seeing Shawn Mendes live. Living in a small city, we don’t often see notable faces, so the fact that I got to see him in concert over the summer still has me starstruck.
Maia Ramsay, Brand Strategist
My highlight of 2018 has been making the move to Halifax and having the opportunity to work with the most amazing team at Dash Hudson. This year has been unforgettable and I can't wait to see what 2019 brings. ❤️
Meggan Marcipoint, Senior Brand Strategist
2018 was such a fast-paced crazy year, it’s really tough to pinpoint one highlight. I think the past couple weeks spending time with friends, family and such a great team was a nice reminder to cherish my community. ❤️
Rebecca Jobe, Customer Success Team
My most memorable moment from 2018 was a two week adventure throughout Peru, which ended with an epic mountain-top proposal in Machu Picchu ❤️
Tomek Niewiarowski, Co-Founder & CTO
This year, my family and I went on a very special trip—we took a train across Russia and saw so many wonderful cities along the way. Visiting these beautiful places was amazing, but the best thing about this trip was being able to spend over two weeks together. A real treat since we live on different continents.
From our family to yours, we want to wish you a happy and merry Christmas. No matter what you celebrate, the spirit of the season remains the same for all of us: joy, gratitude, happiness, giving, lots of food, tons of wine, and family time.
