Welcome to Dash Hudson. You're all signed up and ready to run your first Instagram campaign with a dream team of influencers. This quick guide will teach you how it works so that you can become a pro at influencer campaigns in no time.


First Things First

It’s important to have a few things checked off before getting started in order to run a smooth campaign.

  1. Clearly define your goals and decide on a campaign strategy. What will your focus be and what type of campaign would you like to run? Be thoughtful about how many influencers you choose, captions and timing of posts.

  2. Have an idea of who you’d like to work with. If you have yet to pinpoint the content creators of your dreams, check out these 5 killer tips for choosing the right influencer.

  3. Give yourself at least four weeks. This figure will depend greatly on how many influencers you're working with, but a four-week timeline tends to be the sweet spot for campaign execution. It allows for ample time to connect with the best influencers and plan production, as well as for the talent to shoot and send in their photos for approval before they go live.

Creating Your Campaign

Start by logging into your dashboard, go to the 'Campaigns' tab housed under the 'Sponsored Posts' menu in the left hand column, then click on 'Create Campaign' button at the top of the page.

Write a brief description of your campaign specifics and fill in the rest of the details, including how much you've budgeted per post (Rate Per Post) and the date you've planned for your campaign to go live (Due Date). Upload an image that represents your brand and you're off to the races.

All campaigns are reviewed for approval by our team of specialists. You'll be notified within two days if anything should be changed before influencers are able to discover your brief and put in their proposals.

The simple and streamlined way to create your Instagram campaign. As easy as pie.

You can always go back and edit your campaign inside of the platform at any time, so don't worry if you need to change something once your brief is live.

Campaign Approvals

Once your campaign has been created, you will notice the word 'Pending' in bold red next to the title. The reviewing process will take 1 to 2 business days, after which the word 'Open' in bright green will indicate that you are approved and live.

The 'Pending' campaign is not yet approved and therefore cannot yet be viewed by influencers. The 'Open' campaign and live and open for bidding.

Receiving Influencer Proposals

This is when all the fun starts. Strap on your seatbelts.

After assessing your dream collaborators, our team will work on the backend to connect you with the best selection of influencers that fit your brand and budget. Your campaign will also be available to all of our registered influencers to bid on, which will enable you to discover new people.

Influencer proposals should start rolling in within 7 to 10 days. To view them, click on the 'View Campaign' button in the dashboard.

All of the proposals you've received can be viewed once you've clicked on 'View Campaign'.

It is fully up to your discretion whether to accept or decline any proposal you receive. Access their Instagram profiles in one click to decide whether or not you want to work with them. You'll want to look for their audience size in proportion to their engagement levels in addition to their style and aesthetic.

Not getting anything from anyone you like? Or did you have something specific in mind? No sweat. You have a couple of options here.

  • You can invite influencers to your campaign by clicking on the blue 'Invite Influencers' button at the bottom of your proposal feed, which lands on our 'Featured Influencers' page. Learn more about them by clicking on their profiles, and then on the 'Invite' button if you want to send a quick message to connect. A little flattery can go a long way; don’t be afraid to tell them what you love about them before getting down to business.

  • Send us a note. We are available 24/7 through Intercom (the little circle on the bottom right hand side of your dashboard), via email, or just a quick phone call away. Let us know who you are looking to connect with and provide as many details as possible. The more specific you can get, the better we can understand what to look for.

We will work to create a list of influencers that are on target with what you want, and then connect with the ones you are most keen on.

Welcome To The Workroom

You now have your influencers nailed (one of the most important pieces!). Clap of hands.

Once proposals are accepted, they move to the 'Accepted' tab, from which you will be able to access individual 'Workrooms' with each influencer. Welcome to where all of the magic happens.

This is where you'll be able to chat directly with your chosen content creators. Work out all the details of the post with them in one single streamlined thread. Simplicity incarnate.

The individual Workrooms are a streamlined solution put in place to communicate directly with your influencers on things like product selection, sizing, shipping information, creative direction, etc. It's also where the post deliverables will be relayed: the photo tag, caption mention, mandatory hashtag, date modifications and whether or not you choose to make the post shoppable through Dash Hudson's proprietary technology.

On the right hand side column of the workroom screen is where the influencers will upload their image and caption once they are ready to be reviewed. Be sure to communicate any changes that you would like made if any, and when satisfied, simply hit 'Approve'.

Hit 'Download Photo' as soon as the post goes live to grab that beautiful content. Any image that gets published as a part of your campaign is yours for the taking to use as you see fit. In more official speak, that means you have full content rights.

Your Campaign Analytics

Once your campaign has gone live, monitor your campaign analytics in real time. Pay attention to increases in Followers, Engagement, and Reach. Is there a certain time of day that’s working best? Or maybe a certain style of post or influencer? These are all things that will help positively shape your future campaigns. Are you a digital or e-commerce manager? Bonus. These campaign analytics are sure to impress the team at your next marketing meeting and provide some validation for your efforts.
