We all love learning mundane things about the people who fascinate us, right? So in an effort to tap into our shameless voyeuristic tendencies, we started a Q&A series with the people of Instagram who tug at our heartstrings.
In the spotlight today is the loveliest of lasses with a totally dreamy Instagram account, Melissa Adames. If you don't already follow her, get ready to fall in love.
Minimalist sensibilities, an eye for detail and compelling composition... Did we mention latte art galore? A girl after our own hearts.
There's something so incredibly captivating about showcasing scenes of minimalism in totally interesting ways. That's what you're going to find on the @lulamelissa Instagram account: beautiful images that have evidently been thoughtfully created by the lovely Melissa.
Whether she's gallivanting about New York City, her home base, or taking us on a journey as she explores different parts of the world, there's one consistent thread that never relents - beauty, sensibility, nonchalance.
The lady has an eye, all's you gotta do now is follow.
Name yourself and your claim to fame:
Melissa (@LulaMelissa). My claim to fame gradually happened over the years. I first downloaded Instagram over 5 years ago, and my following has grown ever since. It happened organically, with no help of promos which I'm very proud about. :)
1. Where’s your home base and why do you love it?
I currently live on the Upper East Side in New York City. I love being able to walk anywhere, as well as the endless places to frequent and things to do. The city always has new spots and cafes popping up.
2. Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Usually on my bed, binge watching a show on Netflix, and sometimes at happy hour with friends.
3. Three things you can’t live without?
Dogs, coffee, and my hair straightener.
4. What’s on your travel bucket list?
So many! My recent top places are Montreal, Austin TX, Italy, and back to Paris again (and again! haha I don't think I would ever tire of Paris).
5. What’s your biggest vice?
French fries. I will always eat them all, and anyone else's who don't get finished.
6. Coffee or tea?
Coffee, hands down.
7. Sweet or savory?
I used to love savory snacks but I've preferred sweets as I got older, especially pastries.
8. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Keeping up with the Kardashians. I know it's scripted but it's pretty hilarious.
9. First celebrity crush?
Leonardo DiCaprio circa Romeo + Juliet/Titanic years. I had a poster of him on my wall alongside all the boy bands in the 90s.
10. Who’s your style icon?
Alexa Chung and Tilda Landstam's street style.
