In this digital day and age, it seems that the ones who hold the image of the coolest brands in their hands are almighty creatures who have some form of crazy superpowers. Spoiler alert: these completely fascinating people are actual humans, who hone their digital media sixth sense on the daily for some really rad companies, making them major brand MVPs. Turns out brains and an eye for beautiful things is a killer combo.
We wanted to know more about these ultra-compelling behind-the-scenes characters, so we're tapping some of our favorite digital editors to let us in on what their lives are like to fulfill all of our voyeuristic tendencies (yours, too, certainly). This week, we are chatting with Emily Kolberg from AG Jeans. Contain yourselves.
Very few denim brands reach cult level status, but when you're collaborating with British style queen Alexa Chung herself, it's a clear indication that you're soaring to all kinds of new heights of radness. Such is the case with LA premium jean label AG.
With an Instagram feed that is basically a paradise for denim addicts, naturally the one who (wo)mans the account would have an intrinsically effortless sensibility. Emily's joie de vivre shines through her own photos, too, and her cool girl aesthetic lends itself seamlessly to her job description.

1. What was your college major, and why did you choose it?
One degree in Merchandise Product Development and one degree in International Manufacturing and Product Development. When I went to school, social media wasn't "a thing". I knew that I wanted to be in the fashion industry and started out by aiming towards design. Funny how things evolve :)
2. Favorite part of the job?
My favorite part about being in the industry of digital and social media is that because it's so new, everyone is learning together. There is no true "right" or "wrong" and there is plenty of room for experimentation. When you put together a campaign that was born from somewhere in the middle of your brain and it works, it's quite a rewarding delivery!
3. Favorite social media platform and why?
My personal favorite social platform is probably Snapchat at the moment. It gives you freedom to be creative and totally, uniquely you. Because I recently relocated to Portland, it's also a great way to keep up with friends in LA!
4. Three things you can’t live without?
My perfect maltipoo pup (Harley), my phone, and Carmex (addicted).
5. What’s on your travel bucket list?
Australia and Vancouver, Canada (much more accomplishable now that I'm in the PNW!).
6. Who’s your style icon?
I tend to take inspiration from anywhere and everywhere. It's hard to pinpoint a single icon.
7. Biggest vice? (be honest)
In n Out. I crave that stuff like I truly have a problem.
8. Where can we find you on a Friday night?
A local bar with friends. It's always nice unwind with good company!
