In this digital day and age, it feels like the ones in charge of the coolest brand images out there are almighty creatures that have some form of crazy superpowers. Spoiler alert: these completely fascinating people are actual humans and they hone their digital media sixth sense on the daily for some really rad companies, making them major brand MVPs. Turns out brains and an eye for beautiful things is a killer combo.
We wanted to know more about these ultra-compelling behind-the-scenes characters, so we're tapping some of our favorite digital editors to let us in on what their lives are like to fulfill all of our voyeuristic tendencies (don't lie, yours too).
This week, we're super excited to chat with Spencer Stewart Shander from the funnest company around, Happy Socks.

With an Instagram feed so infectiously full of fun, you just can't help but smile when browsing Happy Socks' gallery. The brand certainly lives up to its moniker, as they've truly mastered the art of making people happy with their joy-inducing photos. I suppose it helps to have a product line that is incredibly photogenic and, well, anything but sad.
Vivid colors, cheeky scenes, charming captions, it all plays into the Happy Socks brand message. One look at their pictures and there is no questions as to what type of journey they want to take their customer on.
We simply had to find out more about the person who is responsible for the execution of it all, Spencer Stewart Shander. Here's our interview with the man behind the Instagram, who basically makes us believe that a pair of socks can turn its wearer into a superhero.
We can't help but think that Happy Socks must be the most fun place to work, ever.
Name and occupation: Spencer Stewart Shander – Social Media Coordinator at Happy Socks AB
1. What was your college major, and why did you choose it?
At the time I chose my major, I was really more into music and my band than anything else. I wanted something that would be interesting, strengthen my writing ability and keep myself as far as possible from routines and numbers. Therefore, I chose to be a History major. I liked that I was able to research, write and read about the crazy stories that have unfolded to create the current world.
2. Favorite part of the job?
I have to admit, it is pretty fun at Happy Socks and it’s hard to pinpoint one aspect that stands out. But if I had to choose one, I'd say that no two days are alike. I work with a super creative team and we encourage people to bring forward ideas and suggestions. More often than not, we give things a shot and immediately go into strategy and production mode; writing copy, working with creative and then following up with ecomm. No day is the same. Keeps it exciting and fun!

3. Favorite social media platform and why?
Instagram. No questions asked. I am a huge fan of crisp and creative pictures and Instagram has an endless supply of amazing accounts that inspire me. No other platform compares when it comes to the quality of assets.
4. Three things you can’t live without?
Snow, a snowboard and Spotify.
5. What’s on your travel bucket list?
Having a strong passion for the environment and a love of the mountains, it has been my dream to travel up to Lofoten, Norway and ski from peak to sea. I have seen a bunch of ski films where a group of athletes travel around the mountains and fjords by sailboat. I think that would be super cool.

7. Biggest vice? (be honest)
Gray’s Papaya King. Living in Sweden, it’s almost a straight line to my favorite NYC hot dog shop when I'm there.
8. Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Any bar that has a couple good beers on tap and a house band that is killing it on stage.
